In a dramatic turn in one of the most closely watched trials in entertainment this year, Sean “Diddy” Combs has been sentenced to 4 years and 2 months in federal prison following his conviction on prostitution-related charges.

Combs was convicted in July 2025 on two counts under the Mann Act—for transporting individuals across state lines for illicit sexual acts. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking, which had carried the possibility of life sentences.
During sentencing, Combs expressed remorse, calling his prior actions “disgusting, shameful and sick” and apologizing to his victims, family, and children. The prosecution had pushed for an 11-year sentence, painting his actions as ones of manipulation and abuse of power.
Combs has been held in custody since his arrest in September 2024 and will receive credit for time served. As per the court’s decision, he also faces five years of supervised release after his prison term.
The sentence marks a steep fall for one of music’s biggest names, and observers expect substantial legal appeals to follow.
