Ejimakor has reacted strongly to recent developments, saying they have raised a number of troubling questions that cannot be ignored.
According to him, the latest action taken by the United States was long overdue and should have happened years earlier.
He argued that the move now casts a spotlight on the Nigerian government’s handling of security issues between 2015 and the present.
Ejimakor questioned why, in his view, authorities appeared lenient toward armed Fulani groups while adopting a hardline stance against the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
He maintained that IPOB and Kanu were treated far more harshly despite, as he put it, not posing a comparable threat.
He further suggested that ethnicity may have influenced the government’s actions, asking whether Kanu’s Igbo identity played a role in the different approaches.

Concluding his remarks, Ejimakor said the situation leaves behind pressing concerns that those who have led the country in recent years must address.
