Ex-DSS Director Mike Ejiofor Urges FG to Take Trump’s ‘Christian Genocide’ Claims, Threat of Military Action Seriously

A former Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mike Ejiofor, has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to take seriously the recent comments by U.S. President Donald Trump, who accused Nigerian authorities of allowing a “Christian genocide” and hinted at possible military intervention.

Speaking on Friday, Ejiofor warned that the U.S. President’s remarks could have far-reaching diplomatic and security implications for Nigeria if ignored.

“The Federal Government must not dismiss Trump’s statements as mere political rhetoric. It’s important to engage diplomatically and clarify Nigeria’s position before this escalates,” Ejiofor cautioned.

He further advised the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Security Adviser’s office to intensify diplomatic engagement with Washington and ensure that Nigeria’s sovereignty and image are not compromised on the global stage.

Ejiofor, who served as one of the top intelligence officers in the country, stressed that proactive diplomacy and transparent communication would help de-escalate the growing tension triggered by the U.S. President’s remarks.
