The Management of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has apologised to its customers over epileptic power supply being experienced recently in some parts of Lagos.
Mr Godwin Idemudia, the General Manager, Corporate Communications Department of EKEDC in a statement in Lagos said it was due to shortage of electricity supply from National Grid (NG).
According to Idemudia, the shortage in power supply was due to a cut on the Egbin – Benin 330KV line that has temporarily shut down Egbin power plant and curtailed supply into Lagos where EKEDC operates.
The General Manager said that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) was working round the clock to rectify the situation and power supply would be restored back to normal as soon as possible.
He thanked customers for their understanding and promised that efforts were being made to ensure improvement in power supply adding that customers will be informed about updates on the situation.
