DSS Alerts Nigerian Army to Alleged ISWAP Plot to Attack Communities in Ondo and Kogi States

The Department of State Services (DSS) has issued a security alert to the Nigerian Army, warning of an alleged plot by members of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) to launch coordinated attacks on several communities in Ondo and Kogi States.

According to intelligence reports, the terrorist group is allegedly planning to strike soft targets and security formations within the two states, possibly as part of a wider attempt to expand its operations beyond the North-East.

A source within the DSS reportedly disclosed that the alert was shared to enable proactive security measures and prevent loss of lives and property.

“The Service has credible intelligence suggesting that ISWAP elements are planning coordinated strikes in some parts of Ondo and Kogi. Security agencies have been put on high alert,” the source revealed.

Residents in the affected regions have been advised to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and cooperate with security operatives.

This latest intelligence comes amid renewed concerns about terrorist infiltration in parts of Nigeria’s Middle Belt and South-West regions, as authorities continue efforts to strengthen internal security and counter-terrorism operations.
