The National electricity regulatory commission, NERC, has directed all the 11 electricity distribution companies in the country to stop billing consumers who have not been metered, more than 1,800 a month.
There has been a public outcry from consumers in the country, over outrageous bills they receive at the end of the month, even when they have not been provided with meters by the Discos.
With this latest development, all residential houses that are unmetered before April, shall not be invoiced. 78 kilowatt per hour monthly equals N1,800.
