Delta State Police have strongly condemned a disturbing viral video allegedly showing women being assaulted during a local festival in Ozoro.

The incident, which reportedly occurred on Thursday, March 19, has sparked outrage after footage surfaced online showing groups of young men chasing women, tearing their clothes, and subjecting them to sexual harassment.
According to accounts, the annual event is said to involve a controversial practice where women are expected to stay indoors, with those seen outside becoming targets for attack.
Reacting to the development, the spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, described the situation as both shameful and deeply troubling.
He disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Aina Adesola, has directed a full-scale investigation into the matter.
Edafe emphasised that no cultural practice can override the fundamental rights and dignity of individuals.
He assured the public that those responsible for the acts would be identified, arrested, and prosecuted.
He also appealed to members of the public to remain calm and cooperate with the authorities by providing any useful information that could assist in the ongoing investigation.
