Death toll in Wednesday’s three-storey building collapse at Ilasamaja area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria has hit four.
General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Adesina Tiamiyu confirmed that another body was recovered on Saturday night.
According to him, “the body was discovered last night (Saturday) under the debris during the post disaster clearing of the site of the collapsed building at Ilasamaja, bringing the total number of mortality to four person, while those rescued alive remains 19 persons all male.
“The body who is yet to be identified has since been deposited by the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit, SEHMU at the Mainland Hospital Mortuary.”
Tiamiyu stated that the agency would also carry out clean up of the site as soon as the site is completely recovered at ground Zero to forestall public health issue in the area.
