The Grammy-nominated star shared this during a conversation on the Official UK Afrobeats Chart Show with host Eddie Kadi.

Reflecting on his journey, Davido highlighted the milestones he has achieved over the years, including global tours, sold-out arenas, and consecutive Grammy nominations.

According to the Afrobeats hitmaker, he now feels fulfilled with his international accomplishments and is shifting his creative focus back to authentic African sounds.

He emphasised that his upcoming music will fully represent his roots, describing it as distinctly “Davido” and unapologetically African.

Rather than experimenting with Western styles to broaden his reach, the singer said he is more interested in deepening his cultural expression and evolving his signature sound.

Davido also touched on his strong connection with fans in South Africa, noting that a significant majority of the population is familiar with and supportive of his music. Over the years, he has built a solid presence in the country through collaborations with local artists and multiple industry recognitions.
