Dangote Refinery Slashes Petrol Price

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a major reduction in its petrol gantry price, lowering the cost from N828 to N699 per litre. This adjustment represents a N129 price drop, amounting to a 15.58% reduction, and is expected to influence fuel pricing trends across Nigeria.

The refinery’s latest price cut comes amid ongoing national discussions about fuel affordability, rising transportation costs, and economic hardship faced by citizens. Industry analysts say the reduction could ease pressure on marketers and potentially trigger wider retail price adjustments if sustained.

The Dangote Refinery, Africa’s largest single-train refinery, has been positioning itself as a stabilizing force in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector. This latest move is seen as part of its efforts to support market efficiency and enhance local supply.

More updates are expected as marketers react to the new pricing structure.
