Couple Drowned Leaving A Note They Were Not Cared For.

The bodies of Jennifer Slack, 63, and her husband Graham, 62, washed up at Breydon Water from the River Yare near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, after the both drowned leaving a note saying they weren’t getting help for mental health problems

Jennifer Slack had battled anxiety and depression for more than 20 years and told her GP about her suicidal thoughts, after her condition worsened due to her father’s death.

Her GP requested an appointment with a psychiatrist but did not mark the letter urgent meaning it didn’t arrive for four or five days.

The Slacks left a note saying: “If you have found this, then we have jumped. My wife has anxiety and depression and we feel there is no help.”

Two more notes were found in the couple’s home in Bradwell near Great Yarmouth along with their passports, financial paperwork and cash to pay for their funerals, claiming Jennifer had received ‘no help’ with mental health problems

The coroner, Jacqueline Lake said that she would contact the surgery to find out what steps it had taken to ensure that their mistake wouldn’t happen again.
