A former Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure in Kano State, Mu’azu Magaji, who was sacked for mocking late Abba Kyari, has tested positive for coronavirus.
He was recently sacked by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for making “indecent comments” over the death of the former Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari.
Magaji made the disclosure on Thursday morning via his official Facebook account.
According to the post, the result of the COVID-19 test carried out by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on him came back positive.
The former commissioner’s personal assistant, Ibrahim Dawakin Tofa, also confirmed the development to The PUNCH in Kano.
He said, “The former Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure had earlier proceeded on two days self-isolation while awaiting the result of the test.”
He also disclosed that Magaji has been moved to Kwanan Dawaki Isolation Centre, noting that “he is currently in stable condition”.
Meanwhile, the Kano State Ministry of Health has announced 30 new cases of COVID-19 in the State, bringing the total number of COVID-19 infections in Kano to 427.
