Chinese Investors Partner with Benue Government on Alia Palm Project to Revive Oil Palm Industry

A delegation of Chinese investors has announced plans to collaborate with the Benue State Government on the Alia Palm Project, a large-scale initiative designed to revitalize the state’s oil palm industry.

Speaking in Makurdi, the investors expressed confidence in Benue’s agricultural potential, noting that the project could create thousands of jobs, boost local processing capacity, and strengthen the state’s role in Nigeria’s palm oil market.

Governor Hyacinth Alia welcomed the partnership, describing it as a strategic investment that would not only enhance agricultural productivity but also attract further foreign direct investment into Benue State.

Industry experts believe the collaboration could significantly reduce Nigeria’s reliance on imported palm oil while fostering rural development and economic growth across the state.
