In a major boost to bilateral trade, China has announced plans to fast-track zero-tariff access for Nigerian exports, a development expected to strengthen economic ties, expand Nigeria’s export market, and enhance trade volumes between both nations.

The update was confirmed during high-level discussions between senior Chinese trade officials and Nigeria’s economic delegation, signaling China’s commitment to deepening trade cooperation with Africa’s largest economy.
China’s Ministry of Commerce highlighted Nigeria as a key strategic partner in its broader plan to enhance trade with developing countries. By fast-tracking Nigeria’s eligibility for zero-tariff entry, China aims to improve import access for a wide range of Nigerian goods—including agricultural products, solid minerals, textiles, manufactured goods, and processed foods.
The new arrangement will reduce trade barriers, lower export costs, and provide Nigerian producers with a competitive advantage in the world’s second-largest economy. Hi
