Chief of Naval Staff Visits Ex-Naval Chief’s Properties.

The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), accompanied by senior naval officer A.M. Yaremi, has paid a visit to the lands and properties belonging to a former Chief of Naval Staff, which are reportedly at the center of a dispute with the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Sources indicate that the visit comes after alleged attempts by the FCT Administration to reclaim or seize the properties, a move that has sparked tension between the Nigerian Navy and the FCT authorities.

While details remain sketchy, insiders suggest the naval leadership’s visit was aimed at ascertaining the facts on ground and ensuring due process in the matter. The Nigerian Navy has not yet issued an official statement regarding the visit or the ownership claims.

Meanwhile, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has consistently maintained that his administration will not tolerate illegal land acquisitions in Abuja, regardless of the individuals or institutions involved.

The situation continues to draw attention from security watchers and analysts, given its potential to escalate into an institutional standoff between the military and civil authorities.
