President Muhammadu Buhari had returned to London, United Kingdom on Sunday night for follow-up medical consultation with his doctors.
Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity stated this in a statement released Sunday night.
He said how long the president will stay away for the medical trip will be determined by his doctors but that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, will be in charge of government while Buhari is away.
“President Muhammadu Buhari proceeds to London tonight for follow-up medical consultation with his doctors.
He had planned to leave Sunday afternoon, but decided to tarry a bit, due to the arrival of 82 Chibok girls who arrived Abuja earlier in the day.
“The President wishes to assure all Nigerians that there is no cause for worry. He is very grateful for the prayers and good wishes of the people, and hopes they would continue to pray for the peace and unity of the nation.
The last medical vacation the president embarked on lasted for 49 days and upon his return, he hinted on a return back for a follow up.
Following his incommunicado for some time now, many Nigerians have demanded he urgently travel to take care of his failing health.
