The decomposed body of late Doctor Allwell Orji who jumped into the lagoon killing himself has been found.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, who confirmed the recovery, said the body was recovered by the Marine Police at the Onikan end of the lagoon.
The body of Dr. Oji was recovered three days after the incident occurred at about 4pm by the operatives of the Marine Police and his identity was confirmed by his family at about 5.25pm.
Until his death, Dr. Orji worked at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Surulere area of Lagos State.
Orji was said to be returning from church, when he allegedly asked the driver to stopped the car, a Nissan X-trail with registration number LND 476 EE and then dived into the lagoon.
The mother of the medical doctor who works with Mount Sinai Hospital, Papa Ajao, Mushin, has reportedly refused to accept that her son is dead.
His family has asked Nigerians to respect their grief, saying they do not want to make comments on this issue.
