Another student identified as Shomuyiwa Azeezat has been raped and murdered in Oyo State, a few days after Bello Barakat was raped and murdered in Ibadan, and about a week after Uwaila Omozuwa was raped and murdered while reading in her church in Benin City.
Shomuyiwa Azeezat was raped and murdered on Thursday 4th June 2020 at her apartment in Ijefun Moniya road, Akinyele L.G.A, Oyo State.
She was a post graduate student of the University of Ibadan,
According to eyewitness, a big stone was found close to her bed, leading to speculations that the stone was used to smash her head which was covered with blood.
An eyewitness said that her neighbors found her dead in her apartment on Friday morning and immediately called the police.
Neighbors of the deceased were interrogated by men of the Oyo State Police Command and they said that they didn’t hear anything during the night.
The neighbors were thereby invited to the police station for further questioning.
This has however sparked an uproar on social media as many Nigerians are angry at the increase of rape and murder cases in the past month.
