A group of fishermen this morning prevented a woman identified as Abigail Ogunyinka, from committing suicide by jumping into the Lagoon in Lagos state.

Ogunyinka jumped into the lagoon because she was owing N150,000, a sum she borrowed from a microfinance bank.

She said she collected loan to fund her ‘amala’ business and has been in default for two weeks.

She therefore decided to take her life as she could not face the shame and embarrassment.
