The Wuse Ward chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the Federal Capital Territory has announced the indefinite suspension of Senator Ireti Kingibe over allegations of anti-party conduct and breaches of internal party regulations.

The decision was disclosed by the ward chairman, Kanayo Chukwu, during a stakeholders’ gathering held in Abuja.
Chukwu explained that the action followed a general ward meeting held on March 10, 2026, where members reviewed a series of complaints levelled against the senator.
According to him, the meeting, which reportedly attracted more than 2,000 participants, examined allegations ranging from the confiscation of the ward’s membership register to the operation of a parallel membership registration exercise.
Other issues raised included the senator’s repeated absence from ward meetings, alleged failure to pay mandatory party dues, and actions members described as disrespectful to the party’s leadership structure.
After Deliberations
Chukwu said that after deliberations on the claims, members agreed that the allegations constituted serious violations of party rules.
He stated that a motion seeking Kingibe’s immediate suspension was presented at the meeting and subsequently adopted by a two-thirds majority of the ward executives present.
According to the ward chairman, the resolution has been formally transmitted to the chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) chapter of the party, Omale Sule, for ratification in accordance with ADC procedures.
Sule confirmed that the resolution had been received and said the matter would proceed through the party’s established constitutional process before any final determination is made.
“As the local government chairman, I must wait for the official submission. Once it is received, the matter will be forwarded to the state chairman for further consideration,” he said.
Also commenting on the development, the Federal Capital Territory chairman of the party, Clement Ehijiator, said the report would be carefully reviewed in line with the provisions of the party’s constitution.
Membership Registration
Ehijiator noted that the stakeholders’ meeting was originally convened to discuss membership registration and other administrative issues affecting the party in the territory.
“As the constitutional chairman of the party in the FCT, I have received the report.
We will study the allegations thoroughly and take the necessary steps in accordance with the party’s rules before escalating the matter to the national leadership,” he said.
