Veteran Nollywood actor Abiodun Ayoyinka has unveiled a new professional identity, stepping away from the iconic “Papa Ajasco” persona that defined much of his career.

In a video posted online, the actor introduced himself as Bondu Alaska, expressing gratitude to Nigerians for their overwhelming support, particularly following renewed public attention from his recent interviews.
He urged fans, colleagues, and brands to adopt his new name going forward, noting that he has already updated his social media presence to reflect the change.
“Good morning Nigerians, my name is Bondu Alaska — the one and only,” he declared in the clip. “I appreciate all the love you’ve shown me. I’m starting afresh, and I won’t disappoint you.”
The rebranding comes on the heels of a dispute between Ayoyinka and Wale Adenuga Productions regarding ownership of the “Papa Ajasco” character.
According to the actor, the name is legally protected, preventing him from using it in independent or commercial ventures.
He also opened up about long-standing financial struggles, revealing that despite portraying the beloved character for years, he did not reap the level of rewards many might have assumed.
