Fighting maternal and infant mortality has been a critical issue in Nigeria, as more than 360,000 pregnant women die every year due to complications during childbirth, and one child in every 22 dies before reaching its first birthday,
Nigeria according to UNICEF,is the second largest contributor to the under-five and maternal mortality rate in the world.
To support the fight against maternal and child health in Nigeria, Jumia has partnered with the woman’s health NGO,The Audrey pack to empower millions of woman and their families.
The partnership is designed to support The Audrey pack in the fight against maternal and child infant mortality in Nigeria, and also provide pregnant and new mothers with relevant health information and childcare items.
The Audrey pack distribute millions of free prenatal materials to mothers across Nigeria as well as antenatal materials to various healthcare professionals.
Pregnant Women and new mothers are encouraged to register in hospital to Receive these materials for antenatal care and immunization.
