Kano Police Rescue Man Chained For Seven Years By Father (Watch Video)

Ahmed Aminu, a 30-year-old man regained his freedom after being chained and locked up for seven years by his father and stepmother.

The Police in Kano state along side some human rights groups, rescued him on Thursday evening at Farawa Babban Layi in Mariri quarters of Kumbotso Local Government Area in Kano state.

According to reports, his parents chained him and locked him up over his consumption of drugs.

It was gathered that Aminu went days without food and water and had to feed on his faeces and urine to stay alive.

However, some concerned neighbours in the area informed the police and Human Rights Network group about Aminu ’s situation.

The video of the rescued man went viral on Friday morning in Kano , showing how the police rescued him from the cage in which he was locked for seven years .

Police spokesperson DSP Abdullahi Haruna confirmed the incident, saying investigating into the reason for his confinement has commenced.

Speaking on the incident, a human right activist Shehu Ibrahim stated that Aminu was locked by his parents on the suspicion that he had started smoking and was using drugs.

He stressed;

We discovered that the father and his stepmother lock him up for several years. When we got the wind of this we quickly inform the police.

Even when the police get to that house the parents still denied Aliyu was not at home until thorough search was carried out and Aliyu was rescued from his cage.

Ibrahim added;
We learnt his parents will not feed him and Aliyu would sometime spend days without food and water such that he would have to eat his faeces and drink urine.
