You Have Blood In Your Hands, Aribisala Tells Gambari

Social critic and political commentator, Femi Aribisala has accused the new President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari of having blood in his hands.

Professor Ibrahim Gambari’s appointment as the new Chief of Staff was announced by Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation on Wednesday at the virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) Meeting.

Femi Aribisala said that when late General Sani Abacha ordered the killing of Ken Saro Wiwa, the former used Ibrahim Gambari to plead with the United Nations as Nigeria’s Permanent representative.

Aribisala also alleged that the same Ibrahim Gambari opposed the naming of a New York street after the late wife to MKO Abiola, Kudirat Abiola.

Taking to his Twitter handle to react to the new appointment of Gambari, Femi Aribisala wrote, “According to the New York Times of October 5, 1997, Ibrahim Gambari, Buhari’s new Chief of Staff, opposed the naming of a New York street after the late Kudirat Abiola, who was murdered in cold blood by Abacha’s henchmen.

“As Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ibrahim Gambari, Buhari’s new Chief of Staff, was the principal international apologist for Abacha’s murder of Ken Saro Wiwa and the Ogoni activists. He has blood on his hands.”

Lastly, Aribisala claimed that the new Chief of Staff in the past had spoken against the return of democracy to Nigeria.

According to him, Gambari had said, “Nigerians don’t need democracy because democracy is not food. It is not their priority now.”
