Police Beats LASTMA Officer To A Coma In Lagos (Video)

A yet-to-be identified senior officer with the Lagos State Management Authority LASTMA, is in a coma, and placed on a life support in Apapa General hospital, after he was beaten to a pulp by some police officers in the area.

In the video which has gone viral, the LASTMA official could be seen laying unconscious on the ground while surrounded by some security operatives and an FRSC official who was attempting to revive the LASTMA official.

At some point, the man who was stylishly filming, presumably a colleague to the unconscious LASTMA official was threatened by a security operative who vowed to deal with him if he filmed the incident.

He was later confronted by the security operative, forcing him to stop the filming.

The contention between the unconscious LASTMA official and the security operatives who beats him to coma is still a mystery.

There were conflicting accounts about the incident as an account said the victim was attacked by the policemen numbering six while trying to broker peace but another version said there was disagreement between both parties over sharing formula.

However, LASTMA Public Affairs Officer, Olumide Falade said the victim is currently responding to treatment as at Tuesday.

The incident was said to have occurred at Eleganza Round About, Warehouse Road, by Trebor junction, off Creek/Liverpool Road, Monday evening.
