Abba Kyari Dies After A Battle With Covid-19

The chief of staff to Nigerian President, Abba Kyari is dead, after battling with ravaging COVID-19 in an undisclosed hospital where he’s been receiving treatment.

He died on Friday, April 17, 2020.

Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity who confirmed this in a press statement wrote, “that the Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari”

May God accept his soul.

Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.

Recall more than a week ago, Kyari announced his decision to leave Abuja for Lagos to receive medical treatment in a private facility.

And needed special treatment since he’s also battling with ashma that leaves him breathless at times.

He was also said to be diabetic, that was why he visited London hospital frequently

Upon his arrival to Lagos, the Lagos State and the Nigerian Governments refused to declare his whereabouts.

The announcement of Kyari’s death came a few hours after the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC said Nigeria’s death toll increased to 17 on Friday from 13, due to coronavirus-related complications in the country.

Nigeria has 493 confirmed cases of COVID-19 including the 17 deaths while 157 people have recovered and have been discharged.
