Chigozie Orusa was a trader in Onitsha, but unfortunately he suddenly developed a mental illness which made his friends decide to take him back to his family compound in Nempi where he has been under the care of his family.
Unfortunately, Chigozie’s mental illness worsened. In the early hours of December 8th 2019, Chigozie macheted 9 people to death. Out of the 9 people he killed, 7 were his family members.
However, on this fateful day, angry youths in his community, Nempi, Oru west local government area of Imo state, set him ablaze after he killed 9 people, 7 of whom are his family members.
The people he killed are his grandfather, 3rd wife of his grandfather and five of his cousins.
The other two victims were neighbors.
This is worrisome with different reactions.
Some people asking why he was not taken to a medical facility with care.
Why was he left with a machete
And why wait till nine precious lives taken before an action.
Reacting to this, the angry youths beat and set him ablaze in Imo state.
