El-Rufai: ‘Body Bag Threat’ And What Nigerians Are Saying

Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai

Nigerians woke up on Wednesday, February 6, to see that something like a petrol had been added to a fire by a Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai and everyone is talking.

While everyone is pushing for a violence-free election, the governor appears to be on a solo lane.

Was he quoted to have said that ‘anyone that will come an intervene in the case of Nigeria would go back in body bags’.

Outrage has trailed this comment that appears to have promoted violent more than unity of purpose, even though no one can categorically say who it was targeted at.

More worrisome is the fact that this comment is coming on a day that Governor El Rufai also assured prospective investors that his administration would continue to provide an enabling environment for their businesses.

Channels Television reported that the governor gave the assurance at a town hall meeting with the organised private sector and business membership Organisations in the state, in partnership with the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA).
