Why Thugs Set Ablaze Dino Melaye’s Projects Meant For Inauguration

Suspected thugs, on Tuesday, warned Senator Dino Melaye against visiting Kogi State, for commissioning of whatever projects, warning that he was not welcome for any reason.

The thugs, in an unsigned statement , had said that since Dino had no respect for “our elders, he deserve no respect.”

The thugs set ablaze some Constituency projects meant for commissioning by Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West.

The projects include Government Girls Secondary School, Sarkin-Noma, in Lokoja; and LGEA Primary School, Lokogoma, also in Lokoja, Kogi State capital.

While the project at Sarkin-Noma was burnt, that of LGEA had its louvers broken.

Both projects were part of the projects located across the seven local governments in the state and were slated for inauguration on Wednesday.

Senator Dino Melaye was said to be on his way to the inauguration when the news was broken to him and he was said to have been disappointed.

He was also quoted to have vowed to still go ahead with the inauguration.

The suspected hoodlums set fire on the block of classroom, totally razing one classroom to the ground.

One of the students Marian Suleman, an SS3 student, said that students got to school on Wednesday morning to discover that the newly built block has been set on fire overnight.

“We have been waiting for the inauguration scheduled for today (Wednesday), only to discover this,” Sulemam said.

Efforts to speak to the police public relations officer of the state command yielded no result.
