House Of Commons On Lockdown Following Terrorist Attack In London

There is a major security alert at Westminster after a police officer was stabbed outside the House of Commons.

A shooting came after a 4×4 car mounted the pavement on Westminster Bridge and mowed down at least 10 pedestrians and cyclists.

Three people – including the brave officer – have died following the related incidents, police said in a statement this evening.

The suspect, who is yet to be named, has also passed away. At least 20 others have been injured – with some suffering from “catastrophic” wounds.

One woman was reportedly pulled from the River Thames after jumping off Westminster Bridge to dodge the car.

The House of Commons was placed on lockdown as Prime Minister Theresa May and MPs were dramatically evacuated.

The incident is being treated as a terror attack, the Met Police confirmed.
