Legendary rock-n-roll pioneer Chuck Berry has died at 90 years.
He died at his home in Missouri on Saturday, said police in St. Charles County, an area north of St. Louis.
Berry was known for such hit singles as “Johnny B. Goode,” “Roll Over Beethoven,” and “Sweet Little Sixteen” — 1950s chart-toppers that endure to this day.
St. Charles County police said on their Facebook page that they responded to a report of a medical emergency at Berry’s home at 12:40 p.m. Saturday.
“Inside the home, first responders observed an unresponsive man and immediately administered lifesaving techniques.
Unfortunately, the 90-year-old man could not be revived and was pronounced dead at 1:26 p.m.,” the police said.
Police confirmed Berry’s identity, and said his family requests privacy.
