Wife of the President Mrs. Aisha Buhari has asked women to ensure that they play a big role in the upbringing and moral education of their children so they can be useful to the society and themselves in the future.
Her Excellency was speaking at the distribution of food packs to women and children in Abuja, as part of the activities to mark the third year anniversary of Future Assured.
Mrs. Buhari was represented by Mrs. Rose Audu who led a women Empowerment team.
Speaking further, Mrs. Buhari said the challenges women are going through, caring for the family and still assisting in the upkeep of the household is no small feat and the packs are just her little contribution to alleviating the hardship some may be going through.
The packs comprised of Noodles, Milk, Tea, sugar, salt amongst other things.
Over one thousand women and children benefitted from the distribution from Dutse Alhaji, Dutsepe and Ushafa communities.
Other Members of the empowerment team on hand to distribute the packs were Mrs. Maryam Hadi, Hajiya Hadiza Abba, Mrs. Zainab Kazeem, Haye Okoh and Mrs. Adebisi Olumide-Ajayi
Future Assured is the Non-Governmental Organisation of the wife of the President, set up with a vision of securing the future of women and children.
